Thanks again for a great weekend. I returned completely in love with the Douro and its wine making history. I must return soon!

  • Thomas Kern

Next time I will show you my favourite place, it is on the other side, some kilometres down the river, so we won’t have any argument.

I look forward to see Thomas back to the Douro. From your description, it seems that your favorite place is the “wild-grown” Quinta da Alegria. Am I wrong?

  • Incredible pictures!!

I wish I’d live there too!

    Wrrrrongggg, too close!
It is near Castedo, there is a chappel on a hill, Sta. Marinha, formerly a miradouro, but trees grew fast. From there you go straight through the wood towards the Douro.
Differnet than Vargellas, of course, but more dramatic.

  • Hi Oscar, just discovered your blog (and Quevedo). Wonderful picture from Vargellas! Please tell me where in Holland (Amsterdam) Quevedo is available? Kind regards, Eus Wst.
